Most people shy away from learning about the chakra system because of how complicated or confusing it can seem at first…And I can totally understand that…But really, even if you did a quick google search, read into a few different sources, and gathered yourself a basic understanding of each of the chakras, it can be plenty enough to help you begin healing through any blockages you may be experiencing.
In this post, I share a quick overview of the chakra system, simple breakdown of the solar plexus chakra, how to access it, and work with its energy.
Chakras are energy centers within our bodies, which there are seven (each with a different color/meaning) that travel along the spine, through the neck and up the crown of the head. (Like in the pic above) Chakras relate to specific parts in our body, & they all have a role in influencing how we feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
When the chakras are open & aligned, our energy is in flow, which allows prana (or our breath) to freely move through our body. We feel healthy and at peace. When blocked, we feel stuck or disconnected & we may even experience both physical & mental health issues if left blocked for too long.
So if you’ve been feeling off lately, consider the possibility that your chakras may be out of balance. Luckily, there’s a number of different techniques & tools you can use to rebalance the chakras again. Learning about what some of those are, can be what you need to help you heal through whichever emotional blockage you may be experiencing.
Let’s Talk About The Solar Plexus Chakra
The Solar Plexus, or Manipura, (color: yellow element: fire) refers to the third chakra & it correlates to your self-esteem, personal power and sense of worth. Its energy spins in the area around the abdomen, slightly (2 inches) above the belly button.
When in balance, you feel more calm, confident, empowered, motivated, accepting of others and self, reliable, & responsible.
When imbalanced, you feel inadequate, and unworthy. You don’t treat yourself with respect and can even feel hatred towards yourself. You feel powerless and undeserving of good things in your lives. You may even experience digestion issues and disorders such as IBS, ulcers, & diabetes (as it’s closely related to our gut health).
The solar plexus chakra is actually one of the most commonly blocked chakras and is usually related to difficult and traumatic experiences we go through, as well as certain habits, mindsets, & beliefs that we have.
Clear The Blockage
Clearing the blockage in your third chakra and allowing energy to flow freely through it will help you to restore balance. Here are some ways you can do that—
Create a daily healing practice— At home, meditation can be the most effective way to break up any blockage. Visualization, yoga, & exercise are also just as effective to get your energy moving and flowing again.
Using the solar energy of the sun— The sun holds so much power. Recharge your energy by waking up early before sunrise and exposing yourself to early sunlight, or if that’s too much, try just spending time in the sun in general.
Shift your mindset— push yourself out of your comfort zone and recognize your true worth. Realize that you are far more powerful than you may think. Believe in yourself and in your potential. You are worthy!
Positive affirmations— say it in your head or say it aloud, scream it if you feel called too!!! Say it from your gut, let your solar plexus energy vibrate and feel the words as deeply as you possibly can. Try these affirmations everyday right after you wake up and right before you go to bed.
Challenge yourself & see if you can do it everyday for the rest of the month:
I am open to healing and activating my personal power center.
I give myself permission to be fully myself.
I love and accept myself now & until forever.
I release the need to control.
I am comfortable with my power.
I forgive myself for past mistakes.
I am motivated to pursue my true purpose.
I am worthy of the life I am creating.
Everything I need I have within me.
My power stems from within.
