When things are good, they’re good. But what about when things are not so good…then what? How do you handle those difficult moments when they arise….do you spiritual bypass them to avoid them at all cost? Or do you face them instead?
Ever have those days where you’re feeling so damn powerful? Where you feel like life is going good. You’ve been healing. Doing the work. Using your self help/spiritual tools. Meditating. Radiating good vibes. Feeling happy. Chakras aligned. Like finally! And then…life is like okay let’s turn up the heat and see what you really got…
…Right? Life can be beautiful…but life can also be f*ckd up & leave us feeling not okay at all.
We experience some shit living on this planet…And sometimes there’s no amount of spiritual self help tools that can save us from the challenges that can come our way.
It’s true, that sometimes we feel good & like we’re on top of the world. And because this is real life…it’s also true that there will be times where we find ourselves in situations that leave us feeling anything but good or powerful.
Sure we have our practices or tools that we can turn too when we’re not feeling whole or safe. And yeah we can reframe our thoughts and try to be positive as a way to spiritual bypass challenging situations…when we don’t really know how to handle it. But we can’t run from our problems or difficult emotions forever.
Life will test us. For sure. And life can really bring us down. If we’re not aware…or if we feel like we’re not in control, life can really start screwing with our health too (mentally, physically, spiritually)…either in a moment or over time.
Turn Up The Heat
My question for you….
When life starts to get challenging, or a difficult situation comes up…What is it that you do?
How do you handle these moments? Do you run from them? Or submit to them & face them head on?
How do you deal with your emotions? How do you handle intense energy? Intense situations or ppl?
What do you do in scary or painful moments?
What happens when you’re feeling angry. Upset? Or what about when you feel empty inside? Disconnected from yourself or others?
Or when you feel like you’re being manipulated? Lied too? Controlled even.
Do you find yourself giving up your power? Or do you step deep into your power & show the world what’s up?
What happens when you feel anything but good or happy?
Do you allow yourself to feel those feelings or do you try to spiritual bypass them instead?
Do you think it’s weak to feel a certain way? Or that you should always feel a certain way all the time?
Do you think you should only be experiencing good vibes only & positivity? What happens when darkness arises or negativity gets sent your way?
The “Not-So-Good” Emotions
It’s okay to feel “negative” or difficult emotions. There’s NOTHING wrong about feeling such emotions like anger, sadness, jealousy, annoyance, confusion, disappointment….We are human beings! We experience all kinds of emotions. We feel. It’s apart of the human experience.
When these “not-so-good” emotions arise, we don’t have to fear or run from them. We don’t have to try to ignore or avoid them. We can allow ourselves to fully experience them. The key though is to deal with these emotions in a healthy way.
Practices such as reframing, positive thinking, positive self talk, mindfulness, meditation, & breath work are allll examples of healthy tools we can use when faced with difficulty or challenging emotions. They can support us in these moments where we don’t feel safe or embodied in our bodies. But using these practices aren’t meant to be used all the time. Sometimes we gotta get into the ring & face what we’re experiencing fully.
When we’re constantly trying to avoid or run from our problems/issues, and when we are constantly turning to our self help tools as a means to keep a positive attitude or good vibes only mentality, we block ourselves from fully healing and growing.
We have self help tools available for us to help us. But when used in excess…we’re then using these tools as a means to spiritually bypass our problems. And this is when we come across more issues.
It’s how we use these practices that matters. It’s about finding a healthy balance…
Because in order to move towards emotions or a life even that actually serve our higher selves, so that we can be able to experience more peace, happiness, & wholeness….it’s necessary for us to feel, process, & understand what we’re moving through. Maybe not directly in the heat of the moment…but at some point, it would be wise for us to face ourselves and that of which feels not good.
It’s great to feel happy. It’s great when we feel like the hero of our lives. It’s great to feel like alll is in alignment. It’s great to have those moments where we can fully experience the beauty life has to offer. But this is REAL LIFE. And real life isn’t always sunshine’s and rainbows. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes it pours. And it’s what we do in response to these not so pleasant moments that allows us to put our power to the ultimate test.
So I ask again…what is it that you do when the heat gets turnt up? Do you try to spiritual bypass or avoid it all to keep your happy go lucky vibes…or do you step up as the sovereign being that you innately are and move into it with grace & trust?
